Jack Wilshere could stay in London next season by moving to Watford.
Jack Wilshere has been a regular face in the Bournemouth team this season
Watford are interested in out-of-favour Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere, according to reports.
The Sun claims that the Hornets have shown an interest in Wilshere, whom they also acknowledge would favour a move to AC Milan if possible.
The Italian giants were said to be interested in bringing him in on loan last summer but he instead ended up at a less glamorous slide that wear black and red – AFC Bournemouth.
The midfielder has already played more Premier League football for the Cherries this campaign than he had done in the previous two seasons combined, with 19 league starts only one short of matching the second most he’s ever made in his career.
However despite showing he can stay fit, Wilshere has not convinced his many doubters with Gareth Southgate leaving him out of the most recent England squad.
Wilshere has never lived up to the hype that surrounded him when he was younger
Who the Arsenal manager is next season will likely affect whether or not he has a future at the club, with his contract up next summer.
Watford’s interest is perhaps surprising, especially with Tom Cleverly set to join permanently in the summer, but as a side that has a high rate of player turnover taking a gamble on someone like Wilshere, who was once seen as one English football’s best products, may make sense.
