The Leicester City ace has emerged as a transfer target for Watford, according to reports.
The Algerian striker joined Leicester from Sporting Lisbon on transfer deadline day in the summer of 2016, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £29 million, but he has failed to establish himself at the King Power Stadium.
Slimani has managed to score just eight goals in 35 Premier League outings for the east Midlands outfit, and has mostly been used as a substitute.
He obviously still has a lot to offer at the highest level, however, and a sustained run of games would surely benefit the 29-year-old.
The Daily Star claim that Silva is desperate to bring him to Vicarage Road, and Watford expect talks to begin with Leicester imminently over the possibility of signing him.
Slimani would be the ideal addition to the Hornets’ squad, and could be seen as the perfect replacement for Troy Deeney, with the Birmingham Mail claiming that the Watford man is a key target for West Brom.
The Algeria international could also form a formidable partnership with Deeney, should the 29-year-old remain at Watford.
