Watford have been linked with Juventus man Roberto Pereyra.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, Juventus midfielder Roberto Pereyra is close to joining Watford.
The Argentina international midfielder is well known by the Watford owners the Pozzo family, having previously had a spell at Udinese before moving to Juventus 12 months ago.
Despite being a talented player with plenty of potential, he struggled to feature for the Turin side last season and made only 13 league appearances over the course of the campaign.
Pereyra is predominently an attacking midfielder though he is also capable of playing on the wing due to his speed and directness, often being compared to former Juventus favourite Mauro Camoranesi.
Watford have been linked with the player for much of the summer, yet the Hornets aren’t the only Premier League club taking an interest as Gazettaworld name West Ham United and Swansea City as fellow suitors.
In fact, a recent report by Sport Mediaset claims the Hammers are weighing up a £15 million move for him, with West Ham boss Slaven Bilic still keen on adding to his squad this summer.
However, considering his previous ties to Udinese, it seems Pereyra’s most likely destination ahead of the new season is Watford and the Vicara Road club are said to be closing in on his signature.
New Watford boss Walter Mazzarri has been heavily backed by the club’s board this summer, and the addition of a player of Pereyra’s ability will only enhance their bid to finish in the top half this term.
