Watford and Crystal Palace could have the upper hand on fellow reported suitors Benfica.
Watford and Crystal Palace are ‘ready to step up their £6 million chase’ for Jeroen Zoet, The Sun reports in its printed edition on Friday (page 59).
Palace boss Frank de Boer is said to have identified the Dutchman, who plays for PSV Eindhoven, as the ball-playing goalkeeper he needs, while it is claimed Watford are seeking competition for Huerelho Gomes.

Portuguese champions Benfica have also been linked with the 26-year-old’s services, but Palace and Watford could have the upper hand courtesy of their Premier League status.
A source close to Zoet is quoted as telling The Sun: “Jeroen sees his future in England.”
Reports suggest Palace and Watford have already gone head-to-head over the signing of Timothy Fosu-Mensah this summer, with the Eagles winning that particular battle.
But it remains to be seen which, if any, of the pair are favourites to land Zoet, although the Dutch connection could work in Palace’s favour.

Zoet came through the ranks at PSV and has won nine caps for his country.
Given the option, should Zoet choose Watford or Crystal Palace?
