It has been reported that the Premier League duo want to secure the services of the 24-year-old midfielder before the summer transfer window closes on Wednesday.
Italian club AS Roma are also interested in Wilshere, according to The Times.
However, the report has claimed that Crystal Palace are in pole position to sign the England international on a season-long loan deal.
“The 24-year-old is prepared to move to Palace or another club lower down in the top flight because he wants to play every game, but Alan Pardew’s side will have to compete with Roma, Watford and Bournemouth, who are among as many as 20 clubs vying for his services,” states the report in The Times.
“Arsenal will not permit Wilshere to move to a club challenging for the Champions League places, ruling out Manchester City, who have long coveted him.
“The north London club would prefer him to move to Italy, but they would probably have to pay some of his £80,000-a-week wages as Roma would not take on the full salary.”
Wilshere is a very promising midfielder and has already proved that he is good enough to play in the Premier League.
The problem with the Englishman is that he has not played much football for a while. The 24-year-old midfielder has struggled with serious injuries over the past few years.
Wilshere is unlikely to get much playing time at Arsenal this season due to the fierce competition for places, and it makes sense for him to leave the Gunners on a season-long loan deal.
The England international should choose the club where he is guaranteed to be including in the starting lineup.
