Matej Vydra could be on the move amid links to Leeds United.

According to Lancs Live, Burnley striker Matej Vydra has asked to leave the club – on the day that claims about a failed Leeds United swap materialised.
Vydra, 27, smashed 22 goals for Derby County in the 2017-18 season, sparking major interest in his signature – and Burnley swooped to land him.
The Czech attacker was expected to bring guile and goals to the Burnley attack, but he proved to be a major flop at Turf Moor last season, scoring just twice in 17 games.
Vydra has now allegedly asked to leave the club before Thursday’s transfer deadline, given that he’s well behind Chris Wood, Ashley Barnes and new signing Jay Rodriguez in Sean Dyche’s pecking order.
A host of clubs are thought to be keen on Vydra, and the claims about his exit have come just hours after new links with Leeds United emerged.
The Sun on Sunday (4/8; page 67) reported that Burnley offered cash plus Vydra for Kalvin Phillips, but Leeds rejected the offer – despite their prior interest in Vydra.

The Yorkshire Evening Post reported last summer that Marcelo Bielsa was interested in both Vydra and Abel Hernandez, but had to pick between the two – and ended up with neither as Leeds signed Patrick Bamford in the end.
With Kemar Roofe set to leave Leeds for Anderlecht, Vydra may not be the worst idea as a replacement, but if Leeds do hold any interest, they must make sure Phillips isn’t part of any deal for him.
