Vincent Aboubakar is reportedly looking to get out of Besiktas, with a move to West Ham mooted.
Porto’s Vincent Aboubakar
According to Turkish newspaper Fanatik, Besiktas striker Vincent Aboubakar has been in contact with West Ham united over a move to the London Stadium.
Aboubakar, 25, hit 17 goals in 37 games for Lorient to earn a 2014 move to Porto, but after failing to become a first-team regular in Portugal, he was sent out on loan to Besiktas in August.
The Cameroonian international has hit 13 goals in 30 appearances in a strong season for Besiktas, though his disciplinary record has been a major problem this term.
Aboubakar has been sent off in each of his last two games, including the 4-1 Europa League win over Olympiakos last week – a game in which Aboubakar found the net as well.
Now, Fanatik claim that Aboubakar is frustrated with how Besiktas have handled his two red cards, as manager Senol Gunes allegedly didn’t want to speak to him after being sent off against Antalyaspor on Sunday, and the striker was unhappy with having to speak to assistant boss Tamer Tuna.

It’s added that Aboubakar is now looking to set up a summer transfer once his Besiktas loan deal ends, and contact has been made with West Ham United over a possible move at the end of the season.
Strong, fast and good in front of goal, Aboubakar could be a smart signing for a West Ham side who have been struggling for a consistent goalscorer, having only landed Simone Zaza and Jonathan Calleri on loan last summer.
The problem for Slaven Bilic is that Aboubakar’s volatility could see him switch from genius to liability in a flash, and with Andy Carroll famously injury-prone, West Ham can’t afford to have another striker on the sidelines, with Aboubakar’s red cards no doubt a concern.
