Aston Villa are making major changes under new owners Wes Edens and Nassef Sawiris.

According to The Telegraph, Aston Villa’s owners have overhauled the club’s recruitment department with a host of sackings – including Ian Atkins, their European scout.
Villa saw Wes Edens and Nassef Sawiris take over the club this past summer, and whilst they have – so far – kept Steve Bruce in the job, they are making other changes.
It’s now claimed by The Telegraph that European scout Atkins has been given his marching orders, whilst five more have gone as well, including loan manager Tommy Mooney and other scouts and analysts.
Villa are making widespread changes in a cost-cutting exercise, but it’s claimed that they have no plans to sack manager Bruce despite rising fan pressure.
Bruce hasn’t had the greatest start to the season, as Tuesday’s 2-0 win over Rotherham United was his first victory in five games, but Edens and Sawiris look set to stick by him.

The report even adds that Villa don’t intend to appoint Frank McParland to the new recruitment staff, despite links to new chief executive Christian Purslow from their time together at Liverpool.
McParland, formerly of Liverpool, Brentford, Rangers and Nottingham Forest, has a lengthy career as a talent spotter, but seemingly won’t be heading to Villa at this juncture.
