Aston Villa have made a breakthrough in the race to sign Bertrand Traore from Lyon, the Express and Star report.
Villa have now agreed a fee with the French side for the attacker, and a £17 million transfer is expected to go through in the week.
Traore is due to arrive in the Midlands soon, and he will undergo his medical at Villa in the near future.
The rapid wide-man is the second attacker that Villa have added this summer, following the arrival of Ollie Watkins earlier this summer.
Traore will add speed to Villa’s attack and he can count Guus Hiddink as one of his admirers, as the Dutch boss described him as a ‘very clever’ player during his last stint in English football (BBC Sport).

Traore was at Chelsea as a youngster, but he failed to make much of an impact at Stamford Bridge, before moving on.
Since joining Lyon, Traore has developed a reputation as a real threat in Ligue 1, and he should make Villa an even more potent threat next term.
