Aston Villa, Newcastle United and Everton are reportedly keen on signing Bristol City defender Adam Webster this summer.

According to a report from Bristol Live, Bristol City are set to demand a £30 million fee for Adam Webster, with Aston Villa, Everton and Newcastle all interested in signing the centre-back this summer.
The Sun reported at the weekend that the Premier League trio are all keen on landing the defender, with the Robins set to demand over £10 million for the former Ipswich Town star.
However, Bristol Live is now claiming that Lee Johnson’s men are set to want significantly more before they accept a bid for Webster, who made 47 appearances in all competitions for City last season.
The report suggests that Bristol City plan to demand £30 million for the 24-year-old in an attempt to deter the likes of the Toffees, Villans or Magpies from making a move.

Webster staying put?
As impressive as Webster was in the Championship last season, it is difficult to imagine the likes of Everton, Aston Villa or Newcastle making a move if Bristol City are unwilling to budge over his current asking price – which is double what they sold Jonathan Kodjia for in a club-record deal in 2016 (via Bristol Live).

All three clubs have the means to meet his reported value, but a deal would take a significant bite out of each of their transfer budgets this summer, so it may be deemed too much of a gamble given his lack of Premier League experience.
But given the clubs reportedly interested, it would be a huge statement for the Championship side – who have threatened to secure a play-off spot in the last two seasons – to hold onto Webster beyond this summer.
