Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Victor Wanyama still looks set to leave.

According to Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad, Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Victor Wanyama held talks with Club Brugge boss Philippe Clement about a move this past weekend.
Wanyama, 28, was a key player for Mauricio Pochettino at Southampton, and also when the pair reunited at Spurs in 2016.
However, the Kenyan midfielder has struggled with fitness issues in recent times, and has subsequently failed to recapture his best form under Pochettino.
With the European transfer deadline still to come, Wanyama may yet leave Tottenham, and a move back to Belgian football could be on the cards with Club Brugge.
They’re pursuing Wanyama as a replacement for Marvelous Nakamba having sold him to Aston Villa, and are really pushing to secure his signature in the coming days.
It’s claimed that Wanyama held talks with Club Brugge boss Clement this weekend about making the move, with the discussions described as ‘positive’.

Wanyama played alongside Clement and Germinal Beerschot earlier in his career, and it’s hoped that their existing relationship will help facilitate a move.
Wanyama may feel that’s a step down, but he unlikely to salvage his Spurs career now, so going and playing first-team football under his former teammate Clement could be a smart move, rather than just sitting out the last couple of years of his £65,000-a-week contract (Spotrac).
