According to Spanish newspaper Estadio Deportivo, Sevilla scout Dani Salas is set to leave the club in order to join Victor Orta at Leeds United.

The Whites brought in Orta, formerly of Middlesbrough before his departure last month, as the club’s new director of football amid a sea of changes of Elland Road.

Not only has Orta arrived, but so has compatriot Ivan Bravo in a director role, whilst Andrea Radrizzani has bought the club outright from Massimo Cellino, and manager Garry Monk has resigned.

More changes are set to come, and Estadio Deportivo report that Orta is set to make his first move at Elland Road, by luring Sevilla scout Dani Salas to Elland Road in the near future.

It’s stated that Salas oversees player indentification in Portugal and South America, and players from those regions have played huge roles in Sevilla’s recent success.

The likes of Daniel Carrico, Gabriel Mercado, Ganso and Diego Perotti have all featured for Sevilla in recent years, and Leeds will be hoping that Salas can identify players who can make a real impact at Elland Road.

Salas, much like Orta himself, was schooled under the now famous transfer guru Monchi at Sevilla, with Orta seemingly reuniting with a scout he worked with during his time with the Andalusian club.

Landing a scout from a European giant is a major step for Leeds, and may suggest that there could be a bright future behind the scenes – but a manager will be needed in order to put it all together.
