Leeds United’s Victor Orta could be on his way to Deportivo La Coruna.

According to Onda Cero in Spain, Leeds United’s director of football Victor Orta is one of three candidates left in the running to become Deportivo La Coruna’s new sporting director.
Orta first became prominent with Middlesbrough, working alongside fellow Spaniard Aitor Karanka to help Boro reach the Premier League in 2016, though his signings tended to divide opinion.
After Karanka left the club in 2017, Orta also departed the Riverside Stadium, but he wasn’t out of work for long as Leeds United brought him in to oversee transfers above manager Thomas Christiansen.
However, Orta has received huge criticism at Elland Road for a host of questionable signings, including Felix Wiedwald, Laurens de Bock, Mateusz Klich and Caleb Ekuban.

Many fans are blaming Orta for Leeds’ poor season, and want owner Andrea Radrizzani to sack him, but their dreams of Orta leaving could yet come true in surprising fashion.
Orta is seemingly wanted by another club, as Onda Cero in Spain report that Orta is now down to the final three contenders to be named as Deportivo La Coruna’s new sporting director ahead of the summer transfer window.
Levante’s Carmelo del Pozo and Las Palmas’ Luis Helguera are also into the final stages of Deportivo’s search, with a decision expected soon as Deportivo primarily focus on the pitch, as they risk dropping back into the second tier of Spanish football.
