Leeds United continue to be linked with the German forward.

According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds United’s director of football Victor Orta has arranged a face-to-face meeting with striker Pierre-Michel Lasogga in an attempt to get a deal over the line before Thursday’s deadline.
The 25-year-old has been linked with the Whites for a while now and Orta, who has been integral in the club’s significant summer transfer activity, is said to have set up a sit-down meeting to see if everyone can settle on the same page.

Lasogga would bring more goal threat to a side that sold Chris Wood to Burnley earlier this month, although it has been a while since the German was anything close to prolific, with just two goals in 22 appearances for Hamburg last season.
Leeds have signed Caleb Ekuban and Jay-Roy Grot but they need more experience up front and Lasogga could be the answer.

The YEP claims Leeds are hopeful of negotiating a deal with Wolfsburg that would see the Bundesliga club pick up the short-fall in the player’s wages, although it is unclear if there would be an initial loan or if the deal would be permanent from the outset with a reduced fee as a consequence.
There is no way Leeds could pay close to Lasogga’s current £50,000-a-week wage demands and only time will tell if Orta can sweet talk the forward and his current club into a deal that suits all parties.
