Alasdair Gold has reported on Football London’s website that Tottenham youngster Jamie Donley is set to put pen to paper on a new deal until the summer of 2026 – as he continues to shine in the club’s Under-21 side at Tottenham.

Having scored 24 goals and laid on nine assists in 39 appearances for Tottenham’s U18 side, Donley has broken into the second string on a regular basis this term – along with shining in the UEFA Youth League. His form is impressing.

Gold has previously likened Donley – who is able to play anywhere across the front three, or even deeper in the middle of the park – to that of Harry Kane, branding him “very creative”. It is unclear when his previous deal was due to end.

But Spurs are set to tie down one of their most-impressive teenage talents. They are due to hand him a new contract until the summer of 2026 – and the deal will have an option to extend it by a year. He is training with the first team.

Gold: Donley set to put pen to paper on new Tottenham deal until 2026

A smart move from Spurs. Antonio Conte is not renowned for bringing younger players into the side but he would be foolish not to hand Donley a chance – if and when the opportunity presents itself. Donley may find more success soon.

With Conte looking more than likely to go at the end of the season, a new manager could be more invested in giving younger players a run out. Donley will surely be at the top of the list when it comes to finding Spurs’ next young star.

Spurs also boast the likes of Alfie Devine, Matt Craig and Maksim Paskotsi. Dane Scarlett, Harvey White and Troy Parrott are all out on loan and they have the quality to make an impact – or at least, bring in some cash at Spurs.
