Rangers have secured Giovanni van Bronckhorst as their new manager – and it looks like Roy Makaay is heading to Ibrox too.
Rangers have confirmed Van Bronckhorst’s arrival this afternoon in a much-anticipated deal.
The 46-year-old returns to Ibrox as Steven Gerrard’s replacement, having played for Rangers between 1998 and 2001.
Rangers haven’t confirmed Van Bronckhorst’s coaching staff yet, and that has been the subject of discussion.
Preferred assistant Jean-Paul van Gastel is in charge of Guangzhou City and won’t be allowed to leave China.
Instead, De Telegraaf report that Van Bronckhorst is bringing Roy Maakay to Rangers as his assistant.
Makaay is a big name in football and will be a familiar name to many Rangers fans.

Makaay won the European Golden Shoe and the Pichichi Trophy in 2003 as his goalscoring exploits dazzled the world.
A two-time Bundesliga winner with Bayern Munich and even La Liga champion with Deportivo La Coruna, Makaay enjoyed a decorated playing career.
Makaay goes way back with Van Bronckhorst too.
They were Dutch international teammates for many years, and even joined Feyenoord together in 2007.
Makaay and Van Bronckhorst spent three years together at De Kuip, before then joining forces on the coaching staff.
Makaay was Under-19 boss and then Under-21 boss at Feyenoord, also working as a first-team coach and attacking coach.
Van Bronckhorst now looks set to bring Makaay to Rangers too, reuniting in an exciting move.
