Arsenal midfielder Francis Coquelin is wanted by Valencia and West Ham United.
According to The Mirror, Valencia have opened the bidding for Arsenal midfielder Francis Coquelin with an offer of £12million.
Coquelin, 26, joined Arsenal from Stade Lavallois back in 2008, and was sent out on loan to Lorient, Freiburg and Charlton Athletic before becoming a first-team player for the Gunners.
The Frenchman has now racked up more than 150 first-team appearances for Arsenal, featuring as a holding midfielder under Arsene Wenger whilst receiving criticism from Gunners fans.
Now, with just one Premier League start to his name this season, Coquelin could leave Arsenal this month, and the Gunners appear to have received a first bid.
The Mirror report that Valencia have submitted an offer of £12million for Coquelin, and hope to get a deal done amid rival interest from Premier League clubs.
Crystal Palace and West Ham United are also believed to be keen on signing the midfielder, but they will now have to top the £12million offered by Valencia if they are to land him.
The Hammers are desperately searching for a new midfielder during this month’s transfer window, and Coquelin appears to be one name on David Moyes’ radar.
Whether West Ham can match or better that £12million offer remains to be seen, and fans may have reservations over paying that kind of money for a player perceived as being limited on the ball.
