According to Cope Cadena, Valencia are looking to cash in on reported Arsenal target Rodrigo Moreno in a bid to help the financial burden on the club.

The Spanish editorial claims Valencia are looking at a fire-sale this summer.

Moreno, who once had a loan spell at Bolton Wanderers, is regarded as one of their top talents and among those likely to fetch a potentially big fee this summer.

According to The Mirror in April, Arsenal enquired about the former Real Madrid striker.

The Gunners head into this summer with uncertainty over the future of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The Gabon international’s deal at Arsenal expires in 2021. The club must cash in on him rather than risk losing him for free next year if they fail to extend his deal.

Moreno may be a potential alternative for Mikel Arteta’s side.

A report in April by Spanish paper AS claimed Valencia value Moreno at £55 million. That figure, however, now seems unrealistic in today’s climate.

The global health pandemic has prompted financial struggles across Europe. Valencia have been hit hard, and next season they will be without Champions League football.

Arsenal will also have to make do without Champions League football after failing to make the Premier League top four. Arteta may have a limited budget to work with this summer.

Moreno, who has been described as extraordinary by Barcelona manager Quique Setien, has posted eight goals and nine assists in 34 games in all competitions this term.

At 29, he is in his peak years and appears ready for a new challenge.
