According to Tuttomercatoweb, Valencia have made contact to sign Leicester City’s Adrien Silva as they plan to beat Sampdoria to his signature.

The Portugal international just hasn’t got going since joining the Foxes for £22 million.

Silva has made a mere 14 league appearances for 2016 Premier League champions, spending last season on loan at French side AS Monaco.

Leicester are seemingly keen to move Silva out permanently this summer.

A report by Tuttomercatoweb earlier in September cited Sampdoria’s interest.

But now, the same editorial claim Valencia are making moves to sign him as they look to hijack Claudio Ranieri’s transfer plans before next month’s deadline.

Valencia have been described as somewhat of a basket-case club this summer.

The La Liga club have sold several first-team members, including Dani Parejo, winger Ferran Torres to Manchester City and forward Rodrigo to Leeds United.

Now, it seems they are looking to fill those voids with signings of their own.

Silva, 31, has plenty of talent and La Liga could suit the midfielder’s technical style.

He last appeared in a Leicester shirt during the 2018/19 campaign, and manager Brendan Rodgers has made it clear how he doesn’t plan to count on him this term.

Former Leicester boss Ranieri, meanwhile, called Silva a great player in 2016.

But the current Sampdoria manager is in danger of missing out on him to another of his former clubs Valencia if the latest reports from Italy are to be believed.
