Spanish outlet Marca claim Valencia have made contact with Tottenham over a second loan for Bryan Gil – but Spurs are ignoring an approach. They want their talented star to join a club with European football next term.

Gil, 21, joined Spurs last summer from Sevilla in a deal that saw Spurs pat £21.6million – and Erik Lamela go in the opposite direction. He played 20 times for Spurs in the first half of 21-22 – registering no goals, one assist.

It saw him go on loan to Valencia in January, and he has since earned fan favourite status. That is despite failing to score again, and only one assist for the La Liga side. Valencia are keen for him to remain at the Mestalla.

Marca say Valencia have approached Spurs over a second loan. But Valencia finished in a lowly ninth, missing out on Europe. Spurs are only willing to loan him to a side in the Europa League, or Champions League.

Valencia approach Tottenham for Gil: Where could he realistically go?

Gil might have earned the applause of Valencia fans, but ultimately he has struggled to add an end product to his game while back in Spain. Real Betis and Real Sociedad qualified for the Europa League in La Liga this season.

Sevilla, his old side, got fourth – while Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid finished in the top three. Seville might want him back but he would not play regularly. It is probably a similar story at Sevilla or Betis.

Jose Mourinho’s Roma are in the Europa League and they play a 3-5-2 system – not dissimilar from Antonio Conte. It might be ideal for ‘magical’ Gil to join the old Spurs manager on loan in the coming weeks and months.
