Report: Valencia consider Everton’s Sandro as replacement for linked-away Zaza

The Everton striker’s move to Goodison Park hasn’t gone as planned, and there’s a chance he could be heading back to La Liga.

As reported by Super Deporte, Everton striker Sandro Ramirez could be in line to return to La Liga, with Valencia eyeing him as a possible replacement for Simone Zaza.

The 23-year-old arrived on Merseyside last summer as part of a huge influx of new players, and was expected to represent excellent value having arrived for a measly £5.2 million.

However things did not go according to plan, and the former Barcelona prospect, who made 32 appearances for the Catalan giants, was farmed out on loan to Sevilla in January.

He made just eight appearances for the Toffees, and the Ronald Koeman signing was not in the plans of new manager Sam Allardyce.

Super Deporte claim Sandro’s situation is being monitored by Valencia who could find themselves needing a new striker with ex-West Ham flop Zaza allowed to leave for AC Milan. Rodrigo is also interesting Real Madrid, according to the Daily Mail.

Whether new manager Marco Silva wants to allow such a move is another story though. The Portuguese tactician is not Allardyce, and in theory would afford Sandro more chances to prove himself at Goodison Park, since he had to feed off scraps in his first season.

Prior to his move last summer, Sandro banged in 14 goals in 30 games for Malaga in the 2016/17 season, and he could still have something to offer the team, although he’d have to work hard to dislodge Cenk Tosun from the starting lineup.
