The January signing has only made one competitive appearance for Celtic.

The Daily Record report that Vakoun Bayo could make an appearance for Celtic in Tuesday night’s clash away to Nomme Kalju in Estonia.

Manager Neil Lennon has confirmed he is set to make changes for the UEFA Champions League return leg having thumped their opponents 5-0 last week at Celtic Park.

Key players like Callum McGregor and James Forrest will be rested ahead of the Scottish Premiership opener against St Johnstone on Saturday.

Signed by former manager Brendan Rodgers in January, Bayo has to date failed to feature competitively under Lennon with his first few months at the Hoops blighted by injury.

He recovered to make the club’s pre-season trip to Austria and scored the winner in a match against SC Wiener. However, he subsequently picked up another injury.

Spotted in training at Celtic Park (SNS) on Monday prior to the club’s trip to Estonia though, he could be in line to make a rare appearance.

Curiosity is high with regards to the Ivorian because of his lack of action so far. If he can maintain fitness then Lennon could have another lethal option to call upon in attack beyond Odsonne Edouard and Leigh Griffiths.

The 22-year-old scored 18 goals in the first half of the 2018/19 season at Slovakian top-flight side Dunajska Streda. That may not be the most illustrious league in Europe, but it’s evidence enough he can find consistency in hitting the back of the net.

After a difficult start to his Celtic career, could he finally get the chance to get some real minutes under his belt and show he can perform similarly for the Hoops?
