According to The Sun, West Ham United have put contract talks with manager Slaven Bilic on hold after the club’s poor start to the season.
The Hammers lost 4-2 for the second game in a row on Saturday, as having been beaten by Watford last week, West Brom also ran riot against Bilic’s men.
With 13 goals conceded in just five Premier League games, West Ham are shipping goals at an alarming rate, and the struggles have piled pressure on manager Bilic.

The Croatian was only appointed as West Ham manager last summer, leaving Turkish side Besiktas to return to Upton Park, having spent time as a West Ham player during the 1990’s.
Bilic oversaw a strong first season as West Ham finished in seventh place in the Premier League table, and whilst he was set to be handed a new contract, those plans have seemingly changed.

The Sun report that West Ham have put contract talks with Bilic on hold, despite talks being started just a matter of months ago.
It’s even claimed that West Ham could choose to sack Bilic unless results improve quickly, with co-chairman David Sullivan’s fears potentially coming true.
Speaking at the end of last season, as noted in The Sun’s report, Sullivan stated that he wasn’t giving Bilic an immediate extension and would wait until January, as he wanted to see whether the 48-year-old was a ‘one-season wonder’.

Sullivan suggested that he didn’t think Bilic would be a one-season wonder, but the fear was clearly in his mind having refused to offer him a new deal this past summer, and this season’s results will give him cause for concern.
Last season’s performances mean Bilic deserves the chance to turn things around, but West Ham must improve quickly if he is to earn that new contract in January.
