Tottenham Hotspur are due to take on Arsenal on Sunday, with Mauricio Pochettino set to make a big call.

According to a report in the Guardian, Tottenham Hotspur’s Eric Dier could make his first appearance of the season against Arsenal in the unfamiliar position of right-back.

With Kieran Trippier leaving and Kyle Walker-Peters and Juan Foyth out injured, Tottenham’s options at right-back are seriously short.

Aurier is the only fit and recognised right-back in Spurs’s squad, but he is reportedly unlikely to make the squad.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side reportedly are considering selling Aurier, who they signed for £23 million two years ago (London Evening Standard), and Tottenham reportedly don’t want to use him under such circumstances.

It is suggested that Pochettino will now choose between Dier and Moussa Sissoko to play at right-back, in what could be a shock team selection decision.

Dier has played at right-back for Tottenham before when he first broke through, but is more comfortable in a central position.

Sissoko, meanwhile, was utilised as a right-back in the final minutes of Tottenham’s last game against Newcastle United, but had only had a limited impact there, with Pochettino’s men falling to a 1-0 defeat.
