Newcastle United are aiming to bring in a number of new players before the start of pre-season.
According to a report in the Chronicle, Newcastle United still have plans to bring in a whole host of new players this summer.
Newcastle’s only transfer movement during the summer so far has been to bring in Christian Atsu from Chelsea on a permanent deal.
However, Rafael Benitez is still confident of completing business before Newcastle return to pre-season training next month.
The Magpies boss reportedly wants a new centre-half, a left-back, wide-man, a central midfielder, centre-forward and a goalkeeper, as well as Tammy Abraham and Florian Lejeune.
Newcastle have been tracking Abraham and Lejeune for much of the month so far, and are negotiating for the pair.
Benitez feels he needs to make big improvements to his squad at St. James’ Park, if Newcastle are to thrive back in the Premier League.
Newcastle are also set to offload a number of fringe players, to make room for Benitez’s new recruits.
