Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce appears to be under no immediate threat of the sack, the Telegraph report.

Newcastle fans made a banner demanding the sacking of Bruce at the weekend, following their defeat to Aston Villa on Friday evening.

However, it seems that Mike Ashley has no intention of dismissing Bruce any time soon, despite the side’s poor run of form.

Bruce cut a dejected figure in his post match interviews, following Newcastle’s latest defeat.

And it seems that the experienced boss has very few answers to stop his side’s poor run.

Newcastle have been dragged right into the relegation scrap, after a nine game winless run across all competitions.

The Magpies have failed to even score in seven of their last eight games, despite Bruce trying to make changes to get them playing on the front foot.

Newcastle fans’ anger at the situation is now rising, with many supporters feeling that a change simply must happen.

But the latest update suggests that Newcastle fans could be waiting for some time yet, before they see a new manager at the helm.
