Report updates on Divock Origi’s future at Liverpool, as Jurgen Klopp makes decision

Liverpool striker Divock Origi has played a key role for Jurgen Klopp’s side in recent times.

According to David Ornstein on BBC Radio Five Live Sport, Divock Origi will not be leaving Liverpool this summer – regardless of whether he signs a new contract or not.

Origi’s worth to Liverpool has increased as the season has progressed, and he played a starring role against Barcelona in the Champions League recently.

The Independent have reported that Liverpool have offered Origi new terms, with his current deal due to expire in 2020.

The striker still has not committed his future at Anfield, but Jurgen Klopp is determined to keep him around.

Liverpool have no interest in selling Origi this summer, and are prepared to lose him on a free transfer, if worst comes to worst.

The Reds are still hopeful that they will be able to tie Origi down to a longer-term deal.

However, they feel that any fee that they get for Origi this summer would not be enough to convince them to sell, as the Belgian forward performs an important role for them.

Origi is a back-up option at Liverpool, but he has proven that he can step in for Roberto Firmino in recent weeks.

And Liverpool are prepared to take the financial hit to keep Origi around for next season.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have previously been linked with Origi in the Daily Mirror, who Liverpool were thought to value at around £20 million, but any hopes of that deal happening appear to have been crushed.
