Tottenham Hotspur playmaker Christian Eriksen was not selected to start by Mauricio Pochettino at the weekend.

Eriksen’s future at Hotspur Way has been heavily speculated about for the entirety of the summer, but Tottenham still have not sold the Danish playmaker.
There appears to have been a lack of interest in Eriksen, who is on a £75,000-a-week deal at Tottenham (Spotrac), from outside parties, with no club meeting Spurs’s asking price.
Eriksen is now said to be resigned to missing out on his dream move, which would have been to Real Madrid and Barcelona.
The Mail suggest that Spurs would still be open to accepting offers of around £50 million for Eriksen before the end of the month, but it is becoming increasingly likely he’ll stick around.
At this stage it is unclear whether that is a boost to Tottenham or not.
Spurs risk losing Eriksen on a free transfer, which could prove very costly in terms of finances.
If the creator does not agree a new contract with Tottenham then Mauricio Pochettino’s men could be a threat of losing one of their most valuable assets without receiving any money in return.

However, if Eriksen does stick around for another season and return to his best then there is no question that he improves Spurs.
Eriksen was left out of Tottenham’s line-up at the weekend, and they sunk to defeat against Newcastle United, with a real lack of invention on show.
And Tottenham may well have mixed feelings about Eriksen sticking around if he does fail to get a move before the end of the month.
