Report updates on Chris Wood’s future at Leeds United, with Burnley preparing another bid

Burnley are set to make a take-it-or-leave-it offer for Leeds United striker Chris Wood.

According to the Daily Star, Burnley are planning one final bid for Chris Wood, in the hope of sealing a deal for the striker.

Wood has reportedly told Leeds he would like to move to Turf Moor, but the Whites are determined to keep hold of their star striker.

Wood has been offered an improved three-year deal at Elland Road, but the Star claim that will be rejected by the forward.

While that is bad news for Leeds, the report does offer hope that Thomas Christiansen’s side will still be able to keep hold of their key forward.

Leeds have slapped a £20 million asking price on Wood, which Burnley are not prepared to meet.

The Clarets are now plotting a £15 million offer, which will be their final bid for Wood.

If Leeds reject the offer, Burnley will then look elsewhere for a striker who they feel offers better value for money, and that could mean Wood is set to stay at Elland Road.

But where that would leave Leeds is unclear. Christiansen has repeated at his press conference today that he wants to keep Wood around, but denying the 25-year-old a move which he reportedly wants so badly, could have a negative impact on his form.
