Celtic boss Neil Lennon could bring Phil Jagielka to Parkhead following his release from Everton.

According to the Daily Express, Celtic will only move for Phil Jagielka if they miss out on their other targets.

Celtic have been linked with the experienced centre-back following his release from Everton and they are interested in snapping him up.

However, Celtic have other irons in the fire, and do not class Jagielka as a first choice addition.

If Jagielka was to move to Celtic he would offer Neil Lennon’s side a great deal of experience in defence.

The 36-year-old is searching for a new club, after spending the past 12 years with Everton.

Celtic are known to be on the hunt for a centre-back, as they have lost both Dedryck Boyata and Filip Benkovic this summer.

Jagielka could play alongside Kristoffer Ajer at Parkhead if he was to move to Scotland, and he would be a great mentor for the youngster.
