According to the Daily Mirror, Aitor Karanka is under big pressure to deliver promotion at Nottingham Forest this season.

Karanka has spent more than almost every other Championship manager this sumer, with Forest now possessing a squad which carries an enviable amount of talent.

Gil Dias has already shone in pre-season, while Lewis Grabban looks to be in the goalscoring mood.

There is great optimism around the City Ground that promotion will be achievable in the upcoming campaign.

However, Karanka is reportedly under significant pressure to ensure that Forest keep pace with the league leaders.

The Mirror claim that Forest’s owners are ready to part company with Karanka at the first stage when they believe promotion is not looking likely.

Forest’s owners will reportedly settle for nothing other than going up this season.

And Karanka could pay the price, if he is unable to live up his side’s new found lofty expectations.
