Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino really wants transfers done early this summer.
BBC Sport had reported that Spurs’ first bid for Lo Celso was worth over £50 million.
However, the Spanish press believe that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has started with a low price again, and refutes these claims.
Mundo Deportivo claims that Tottenham only submitted an offer of £35 million for Lo Celso, which was quickly rejected.
Betis simply have no interest in selling the Argentine midfielder on the cheap, and Tottenham will have to significantly raise their offer to stand any chance of getting the playmaker.
Levy often starts low with his initial offers, as he wants to negotiate the best deal for Tottenham, but Mauricio Pochettino’s side are taking a risk here.
Firstly, Tottenham are not the only side interested in Lo Celso, so they could be put on the back foot if another team comes in for him.
Spurs boss Pochettino also has suggested that he wants transfers completed early this summer, but it seems that any Lo Celso deal is still a long way off.
