Gareth Bale is set to start for Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday, the Daily Mail suggest.

Bale only came on as a substitute, but the Mail claim that Jose Mourinho is ‘expected’ to put him in Tottenham’s line-up on Thursday for their Europa League clash with LASK.

Tottenham have taken the competition very seriously this season, with Mourinho seemingly determined to deliver silverware.

And Spurs will likely name a very strong line-up for their opening group stage game.

Bale will hope that his first full appearance back at Tottenham has a happier ending than his second debut, if he does start.

Bale was brought on with Spurs 3-0 up against West Ham United at the weekend, but was powerless to stop David Moyes’s side coming back to claim a draw.

Bale showed glimpses of quality in his cameo appearance, with one run and shot particularly memorable, but it seems that he is still searching for full match sharpness, after being starved of game time for so long.
