Rangers midfielder Andy Halliday is reportedly set to join Gabala.
According to The Scottish Sun, Rangers midfielder Andy Halliday is set to join Azerbaijani side Gabala in a shock season-long loan deal.
Halliday, 25, was born in Glasgow and grew up supporting Rangers, with Mark Warburton handing him his dream move to Ibrox in the summer of 2015 after spells with Livingston, Middlesbrough and Bradford City.

The midfielder has been a key player for Rangers over the last two years, notching 15 goals in 90 appearances for the club – but his time at Ibrox may be coming to an end this week.
Halliday has been deemed surplus to requirements by manager Pedro Caixinha, and having been left out of Rangers’ Europa League squad to take on Progres Niederkorn later this week, the writing is on the wall for the midfielder.
Now, The Scottish Sun report that Halliday is set for a move away from Rangers, with a shock season-long loan deal with Azerbaijani outfit Gabala allegedly set for completion.
Halliday will reportedly fly out to Gabala’s training camp on Tuesday to complete his move, as they are currently out in Austria gearing up for a Europa League qualifier against either Jagiellonia Bialystok or Dinamo Batumi.

Having been told that he would be training with Rangers’ Under-20’s until he finds a new club, Halliday may simply want to go where he is wanted, and Gabala could offer him regularly first-team football.
Halliday’s exit should be confirmed this week, and having brought in eight new signings this summer, it’s now time for Rangers to start shedding some of the dead weight in their squad – starting with midfielder Halliday.
