An unnamed English club have offered €6 million [£5.3 million] for Vitoria Guimaraes midfielder Bongani Zungu, Soccer Laduma reports.
Zungu was linked with a move to Sheffield Wednesday last week [A Bola] and proceeded to ‘like’ several tweets which suggested that a move to Hillsborough could be on the cards. However, it is unclear at this stage whether Wednesday are in fact the bidding club.
As previously reported by Soccer Laduma, the UK’s strict work permit requirements make it difficult for the 24-year-old to sign for an English club at Vitoria’s reported asking price of €3.5 million [£3.1 million].
Nevertheless, it is possible that a higher offer could help to circumvent those rules, with Ramadan Sobhi’s 2016 transfer to Stoke City cited as an example.

It is thought that Wednesday’s Portuguese head coach, Carlos Carvalhal, is keen to strengthen in Zungu’s position ahead of another assault on promotion to the Premier League.
The Owls have signed a number of players from Portugal’s top flight in recent years, with Lucas Joao, Marco Matias and Vincent Sasso among the most notable imports.

However, the Hillsborough side’s assistant coach, Lee Bullen, recently hinted to The Star that this summer’s recruits will be predominantly British based.
Zungu’s impressive displays for Vitoria are also said to have caught the eye of Portugese giants Benfica and FC Porto.
Would Zungu be a good buy for Sheffield Wednesday?
