Aston Villa could take Divock Origi away from Liverpool this summer, with Dean Smith wanting to sign the striker as part of his recruitment plans, the Daily Mirror report.
Villa are said to be eyeing up two new forwards, with Liverpool’s Belgian forward Origi very much on their radar.
Origi has struggled for starts at Liverpool this term, which has led to doubts forming about his future.
With Rhian Brewster breaking through, and Takumi Minamino also signed, Origi could face even more limited game-time next term.
And Villa think that he could be an excellent addition to their squad.
Origi has scored some crucial goals for Liverpool, including one in the Champions League final, and has shown an ability to rise to the big occasion.

At Villa he could well walk straight into Smith’s starting line-up, as Wesley, Aly Samatta and Keinan Davis have all looked unconvincing in the number nine role over the past term.
Whether Jurgen Klopp will sanction the sale of Origi remains to be seen though, as he described the forward as ‘unbelievably important’ to the Liverpool Echo in October last year.
