Arsenal could still sign Thomas Partey on deadline day, the Independent report.

Arsenal have been pushing to sign Partey from Atletico Madrid all summer, but they have failed to get a deal over the line.

The Gunners’ hopes of completing the transfer looked to be all but over heading into deadline day.

However, the latest update gives Arsenal hope that a deal could still happen at the last minute.

The Independent say that Arsenal are expecting to bring in at least one player today, and Partey could be the man that arrives.

If the Ghanian, who was hailed as ‘unbelievable’ by Atleti teammate Keiran Trippier (Beautiful Game Podcast), does move to the Emirates Stadium it will give everyone at Arsenal a boost.

Mikel Arteta’s side have started the season well, but there is a feeling around Arsenal that they haven’t done quite enough business this summer to strengthen their squad.

Partey would provide them with some much needed midfield bite though, and he would surely enhance the quality of options available to Arteta.
