Aston Villa boss Unai Emery wants to sign Tottenham Hotspur misfit Giovani Lo Celso once again this summer.
Unai Emery wants Giovani Lo Celso again
The Daily Mail report that Villa are keeping close tabs on Lo Celso’s situation.
The Argentinian is coming to the end of an 18-month loan spell with Emery’s former club Villarreal.
Indeed, it was Emery who signed Lo Celso in the first place, securing a loan deal in January 2022.
That deal was extended last summer with Emery a huge fan of Lo Celso; the pair worked together at Paris Saint-Germain too.
Villa are now keen and Tottenham are understood to be happy to sell the midfielder.
Emery is such a big fan of Lo Celso that he allegedly spoke about signing him for Newcastle United during 2021 talks with the Magpies.
Another reunion could now be on the cards though with Villa eyeing up a summer move for the Spurs outcast.

Lo Celso hasn’t impressed at Tottenham
Tottenham’s attempt to sign Lo Celso was one of the great transfer sagas of 2019.
Lo Celso had been outstanding on loan at Real Betis and Mauricio Pochettino wanted to lure his fellow Argentinian to North London.
The deal took a long time to go through but Lo Celso eventually joined Tottenham on loan with a permanent clause included.
Spurs ended up forking out £42million for Lo Celso – £15million for a loan and £27million for the permanent move.
Sadly, Lo Celso didn’t really live up to that price tag and whilst he had some promising displays under Antonio Conte, he was never able to shine consistently.
Antonio Conte had seen enough and sent him off to Villarreal last season with Lo Celso widely expected to leave for good this summer.
Few would have predicted another Premier League chance but Emery but now pounce to reunite as Villa look to move forward under the Spaniard.
