PSG have taken a big step in trying to sell Mauro Icardi with the French giants placing the striker on the transfer list just six months after offering Arsenal the chance to sign the forward.
According to Le Parisien, Icardi is one of 11 players new PSG manager Christophe Galtier is keen to offload this summer, with the French giants trying to sell the Argentine international for the best part of a year, a task that the Ligue 1 champions have failed to accomplish.
As per reports, Icardi was offered out to many clubs in the January transfer window in an attempt to get the former Inter Milan captain off PSG’s books, with Arsenal one of the sides PSG approached over the striker, yet the Gunners rejected the chance.
A £45m signing back in 2020, Icardi has failed to live up to expectations in the French capital and this summer finally looks set to leave PSG, with Galtier ready to sell the attacker along with then other high-profile players in what is to be a huge summer for the UEFA Champions League side.
Indeed, Arsenal have already landed a new starting striker this transfer window in Gabriel Jesus, and whilst Icardi could be a wildcard option for Mikel Arteta, the 29-year-old would simply be too expensive and bring many off-the-field issues that the Gunners can do without next season.
PSG will struggle to sell Icardi with so few suitors willing to take risk

Icardi, on his day, is a world-class striker who would be a welcome addition for many top clubs in Europe, however, the problems outweigh the benefits for the former Serie A superstar, and it is because of this that PSG will struggle to sell the attacker.
After all, high wages and an explosive personal life make Icardi a risky signing for almost any side with aspirations, and for PSG, this will make their task of trying to sell the forward almost impossible this summer despite the obvious need to part with the Argentine.
