AC Milan are reportedly eyeing a January move for LOSC Lille star Renato Sanches. Who Wolves are also keen on signing in the winter window.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the UEFA Champions League side are preparing to lure the Ligue 1 star to Milan after capturing Sanches’ Lille teammate Mike Maignan in the summer. With Wolves plotting a move of their own as well.
As per the report, Lille have had offers for Sanches this year. With Arsenal making a €35m (£30m) offer for the Portuguese international in the summer that was rejected by the reigning French champions.
Indeed, Sanches is now set on leaving Lille after failing to land a transfer in the off-season. And with Milan now keen on the midfielder, Wolves face a tough challenge on luring the former Bayern Munich star in January.
The Serie A giants are likely to lose Franck Kessie in the winter. With Tottenham eager on signing the Ivorian midfielder. Moreover, Sanches could be a solid replacement for the Milan star if they can beat out Wolves to the 24-year-old’s signature.
Whilst the Black Country side are impressing under Bruno Lage, a move to a Champions League club could entice Sanches. Indeed the Benfica academy graduate has played in Europe’s elite competition for Lille this season.
Milan interest could put Wolves on the backfoot for Sanches

Portuguese players have been at the core for Wolves’ success in the Premier League. And whilst the Molineux side have landed some big names in Fabio Silva and Ruben Neves, Sanches could be a leap too far for the Premier League club.
Indeed, Sanches could be eager on playing European football. And with Milan flying in Serie A, the Italian giants have the advantage over Wolves in the race for the Lille superstar heading into January.
