Newcastle United youngsters Jack Young, Elliot Anderson and Tom Allan could be promoted to first-team training as The Magpies gear up for a return to Premier League action, according to The Mail.
Matty Longstaff does appear to have one foot and a few toes out of the door with the talented midfielder rejecting the chance to sign a new contract on Tyneside – but he is not the only promising academy graduate turning heads at St James’ Park.
Take Tom Allan for instance.
A local-born, 20-year-old forward, he has found the net on a regular basis at reserve team level this season alone
“Tommy, from a goal-scoring front, has given himself a chance,” U23 coach Chris Hogg told the Chronicle recently after Allan scored 12 goals in 11 games.
Now, a Premier League debut could be handed to him with the senior striking options at Steve Bruce’s disposal hardly setting the world alight.
The Mail claims that Allan is under consideration to be promoted to the senior squad, alongside fellow starlets Anderson (below) and Young.

Anderson, a 17-year-old central midfielder, signed professional terms in November. He has produced 11 goals and assists in 2019/20 and idolises former Magpies playmaker Yohan Cabaye.
19-year-old Young, meanwhile, has kept summer signing Kyle Scott out of the U23 starting XI at times. A tigerish, tenacious and dynamic box-to-box player, Young already feels like a potential readymade replacement for Longstaff on Tyneside.
