According to RMC Sport (via The Scottish Sun), Celtic rejected deadline day offers for Olivier Ntcham from Brest and Bordeaux.

The Ligue 1 pair submitted loan offers for the Frenchman, but those on the board at Celtic Park deemed both bids as unacceptable.

Ntcham has two years left on his contract with the Scottish giants.

He was linked with a move to Southampton back in May as The Scottish Sun revealed, where they also stated that the midfielder earns £35k-a-week with the Scottish champions.

On a day where Ntcham’s former Genoa teammate Diego Laxalt arrived at the club, the 24-year-old might’ve been heading away if Brest or Bordeaux submitted a more attractive offer.

The Uruguay international has joined from AC Milan on a season-long loan deal, and is eligible to face the Italian giants in Europa League group stage action.

Fortunately for Laxalt however, the 24-year-old will remain at Celtic Park for now to show him the ropes and help him settle in.

Ntcham has made 136 appearances for the Hoops since joining from Manchester City, scoring 23 goals and recording 13 assists.

It would’ve been a blow to lose him on deadline day with such little time to find a replacement, so thankfully, Lennon can plan for the remainder of the campaign with the Longjumeau-born player in his ranks.
