Newcastle United duo Andy Carroll and Dwight Gayle stormed off down the tunnel and Brighton & Hove Albion and did not partake in the post match warm-down, the Daily Mail report.

Gayle and Carroll were both unused substitutes during Newcastle’s latest defeat, as their side went down 3-0.

It seems that Steve Bruce’s decision to overlook them may not have gone down particularly well with either of the pair.

The Mail spotted both players looking very frustrated at full-time, as they marched inside after watching their teammates well beaten.

Bruce’s failure to pick Gayle is particularly mystifying at the moment.

Bruce has always talked about how big a fan of Gayle he is, and the Newcastle striker showed some good form towards the end of last season.

While he may not be the answer long-term for the Magpies, it is difficult to argue that he wouldn’t be a more dangerous option than Joelinton right now.

Newcastle’s latest defeat has left them sitting just two points above the relegation zone, with their next game coming against Tottenham Hotspur.
