Liverpool could be without both Alisson and Fabinho for their next game, the Liverpool Echo report, with Caomhin Kelleher already on ‘stand-by’ to play against Watford.

Double blow for Liverpool?

Both Alisson and Fabinho have left Liverpool to link up with the Brazil side for their international fixtures this fortnight.

The Premier League have now come to an agreement with the nations to ensure that players will at least be eligible to play when they return from their South American trip, provided they are double jabbed.

However, Liverpool may have to do without both Alisson and Fabinho who the Echo rank as ‘unlikely’ to play.

That is because Brazil’s final friendly takes place in the early hours of Friday morning next week, with Liverpool due to play on the Saturday against Watford.

The quick turnaround means that both Alisson and Fabinho are likely to be given the match off.

Kelleher put on stand-by

Indeed, Kelleher is apparently already on standby to feature.

The loss of Alisson and Fabinho will be a blow to Liverpool, although Kelleher has proven before that he is capable of stepping in and performing admirably.

The 22-year-old Irish stopper has proven very reliable in recent times, and he has eased ahead of the likes of Adrian and Loris Karius in the pecking order at Anfield, due to his consistent displays when called upon.

If Liverpool can beat Watford in two weeks’ time then they could move to the top of the Premier League, if other results go in their favour.
