Things haven’t worked out for Camara at Derby since his switch from Angers, but he could possibly escape now.

Derby County winger Abdoul Camara could finally see his Pride Park nightmare come to an end after news emerged that two unnamed French clubs were interested in his services, as reported by the Derby Telegraph.
The 27-year-old Guinea international, who made 19 appearances in all competitions for the first team in the 2016/17 season, hasn’t hit the heights expected of him when he was signed for £1.25m in January 2016, as reported by BBC Sport, and there had been talk that Camara could be off this summer.

Camara scored once this season, against Leicester City in the FA Cup, and claimed just one assist, which came away at Queens Park Rangers in December, in what’s been a forgettable campaign for both the player and the Rams in general.
However, Camara’s stock in France is still quite high, as the same Derby Telegraph report claims that Toulouse, Montpellier, Lyon and Lille – all of whom have played Champions League football in recent years – have been linked since he joined the Rams.

Whether any of those four clubs are the two unnamed interested parties in question remains to be seen, but it looks likely that a move back to France for Camara would be best for all parties concerned, while also putting more funds into the bank for Gary Rowett to play with as he moulds his own side.
Derby have already made one purchase this summer with the signing of centre back Curtis Davies from Hull City, and it would be a huge surprise to just about everyone if he’s the only fresh face to arrive at Pride Park over the coming months.
