Celtic are reportedly set to track Srdjan Plavsic this week.

According to the Daily Mail, Celtic’s Head of Recruitment Lee Congerton will travel to Poland this week in order to watch winger Srdjan Plavsic in action.

The Bhoys dominated Scottish football by winning all three trophies they participated in without even losing a game, ending the domestic campaign with an unbeaten record.

Manager Brendan Rodgers will be keen to keep that run going into next season, and new signings will be needed to boost his Celtic squad – especially with the Champions League qualifiers coming up.

Celtic tied up their first signing of the summer on Saturday afternoon by landing Aberdeen winger Jonny Hayes, but their attempts to boost their options out wide aren’t over just yet.

The Daily Mail report that Celtic remain keen on Red Star Belgrade winger Srdjan Plavsic, with Head of Recruitment Lee Congerton set to travel to Poland in order to watch him on Friday.

Plavsic is a part of the Serbian squad for the Under-21 European Championships in Poland, and he will be taking on Spain on Friday, with Celtic taking the opportunity to watch him in action.

Plavsic, 21, joined Red Star from Spartak Subotica in 2015, and notched eight goals and five assists last season, whilst catching Celtic’s eye with his pace, skill and ability to score from range.

A right-sided winger who loves to cut inside onto his left foot, Plavsic figures to be a potential alternative to former Celtic loanee Patrick Roberts, if the Bhoys can’t bring the Manchester City youngster back this summer – and with a fee of just £1.5million mentioned, Plavsic could be a bargain for Rodgers and co.
