Turkish outlet Fotomac have reported that Trabzonspor will sign Leeds United attacker Caleb Ekuban on a permanent basis before the end of the season.

The Italian striker has been on loan with the Turkish side since last summer and has recently come into a bit of form, netting three times in his last seven games.

And according to Fotomac, they will take up their option to sign the Leeds player in the long term, for a fee of around €1 million – or £878,000.

The writing has been on the wall for Ekuban since Marcelo Bielsa deemed his surplus to requirements last summer and getting rid is the best scenario for all parties – something that the former Chievo Verona star agrees with.

Last month, the 24-year-old admitted that he wanted to stay in Turkey beyond the end of his loan agreement [Haber61] and, if rumours are believed, that looks like it’ll materialise.

Ekuban, contracted to the Elland Road side until 2021, scored only twice in 21 appearances across all competitions in his debut season for Leeds last season.
