Toumani Diagouraga made just one appearance for Leeds United last season.
According to a report from the Yorkshire Evening Post, Toumani Diagouraga is determined to fight for his place at Leeds despite spending almost all of last season being frozen out at Elland Road.
Diagouraga arrived at the club back in January 2016 when Steve Evans was in charge. And despite featuring prominently in pre-season following Garry Monk’s appointment and subsequently starting on the opening day of the Championship campaign, the 3-0 defeat at Loftus Road remains his last piece of competitive action for the Whites.

The 30-year-old was soon told to train with the under-23s and left for Ipswich Town in January in a loan deal that appeared to spell the end of his Leeds career, but the Yorkshire Evening Post suggests that Monk’s departure may have left the door open for the Frenchman to salvage his time with Thomas Christiansen’s side.
The Yorkshire Evening Post reports that the former Brentford man plans to fight for his place, despite the arrival of Poland international Mateusz Klich in his position, in the hope that Christiansen sees something that Monk simply did not.
And the early signs arguably seem positive with Diagouraga featuring at centre-back for the Whites’ pre-season friendly with Harrogate this week – though it must be mentioned that that is a position that Monk also used him in this time last year.
But with Leeds looking seriously short of options at the heart of their defence, and Giuseppe Bellusci likely to be an extremely unpopular member of the squad amongst the fans if he sticks around, perhaps there is an opportunity for Diagouraga to operate as something of a utility man during the coming campaign.
