According to Foot Mercato, Toulouse have dropped their asking price for midfielder Ibrahim Sangare amid links to Tottenham Hotspur.

Get French Football News reported in August that Spurs are ‘very interested’ in signing Sangare this summer, with their pursuit described as ‘intense’.

Spurs have allegedly been following Sangare for some time now, though no bid had been made at that point despite an asking price of just €20million (£18million).

These new reports now claim that Toulouse have slashed the asking price on Sangare’s head to just €8million to €10million – which is around £7million to £9million.

Toulouse suffered relegation from Ligue 1 last season, and now seemingly feel that they need to bring in the cash now.

Sangare is a huge presence at 6ft 3in tall, and has earned praise for his ability as a holding midfielder, possessing ability in the tackle and in terms of reading the game.

He isn’t the most polished passer, but he at least tries to progress the ball, and at just 22, he is an absolute bargain at around £8million.

Spurs have already signed one holding midfielder in Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, but Sangare would add real depth to Jose Mourinho’s options – and this price crash may just tempt Tottenham into a move after all.
