Tottenham Hotspur want Arne Slot but Feyenoord are chasing a huge deal which could reach €25million.
Feyenoord are seeking an enormous fee for Tottenham target Arne Slot, according to reports from Algemeen Dagblad.
Slot appears to be emerging as Tottenham’s top choice to replace Antonio Conte on a permanent basis.
The Dutchman guided Feyenoord to the Eredivisie title this season and even secured a Europa League quarter-final spot.
Tottenham now want to lure Slot to North London but face an enormous outlay – if Feyenoord get their way.
Algemeen Dagblad claim that Feyenoord want a deal worth similar to the €25million (£21.7million) Bayern Munich paid for Julian Nagelsmann in 2021.
It’s hard to imagine Tottenham paying that kind of money for Slot, which may drag this pursuit out a little while yet.
Slot has a £6million release clause which only kicks in next summer, meaning Feyenoord can – and probably will – demand more now.
Still, it’s a big jump to nearly £22million and we can only imagine that the final price ends up being far from that figure.

Comparing Arne Slot demands to Tottenham transfer fees
If Tottenham did end up paying nearly £22million for Slot – again, a situation we can’t see happening – then some will compare that huge fee to some of the Spurs players.
For instance, Tottenham paid £22million to sign Son Heung-min from Bayer Leverkusen way back in 2015.
That proved to be money well spent with Son becoming a hero at Tottenham; something Slot would need to emulate.
Tottenham struck a similar deal for Rodrigo Bentancur last year, striking a deal worth around £21.5million to sign the Uruguay ace.
Bentancur has excelled when fit and Tottenham fans likely can’t wait to see him back in action.
Djed Spence is yet to really prove value for money at a similar price, whilst there are high hopes for inbound Destiny Udogie.
It’s not often we see clubs forking out £20million-plus for a manager but if Feyenoord get their way, Tottenham will be making a huge investment in Slot.
